    Conveyancing

Residential Conveyancing involves dealing with the sale and purchase of either freehold or leasehold domestic properties. If you are buying and selling, SHB will ensure that both your sale and purchase take place on the same day unless you specify otherwise.

When selling a property their conveyancing solicitors will guide you through the whole process, stage by stage.  When a buyer is found they will answer any queries raised by the buyer's solicitor and then proceed to completion. If your property is subject to a mortgage, they will make all of the legal arrangements to repay it upon completion and to release the property legally from the mortgage.

    Divorce & Family Law

This is an area of law where it is essential to receive specialist and sympathetic advice and representation. This includes Co-Habitation & Pre-Nuptial Agreements. Our Solicitors Carly Price & Andrew Whitfield can assist.

They offer an initial consultation at a fixed fee of £100 plus VAT at which your problem can be discussed and advice provided with no obligation on your part to use their services. If you require further assistance then during the initial consultation they will have explained to you their charging arrangements.

    Civil Litigation

This includes contentious probate, boundary disputes, residential Landlord & Tenant possession claims & dispute resolution. Andrew Whitfield, our very experienced Solicitor deals with these matters and more and is also a member of Resolution.

    Powers of Attorney

Powers of Attorney can be completed for many purposes. These range from authorising someone to complete a transaction on your behalf whilst you are abroad, through to providing a Lasting Power of Attorney allowing a trusted friend or relative to administer your affairs in the future or make medical or personal care decisions for you in the event that you are unable to do this yourself. For advice, please ask for Clive Cook, Rachel Mildred, Lisa Bacon or Shona Davidson.

    Wills & Probate

Making a Will ensures your wishes are followed on your death. It is a means for you to control who gets what after your death, it allows you to decide who is to look after your children or even your pets, to make gifts to your favourite charities and also it allows you to choose who is to administer your estate upon death. Not having a Will could mean that some of your relatives or friends may get nothing from your estate, as there are strict rules which govern who gets what if a person has died without making a Will. For advice, please ask for Clive Cook, Rachel Mildred, Lisa Bacon or Shona Davidson.
